I have a 48-hour cancellation policy. Your full lesson rate will be charged for all appointments cancelled with less than 48 hours notice prior to your scheduled time or if you do not attend your appointment without notice. The full rate will also be charged to schedule a new appointment. (See Illness and Weather policies below)
Single appointments cancelled with more than 48 hours notice may be rescheduled one time. If you are a regularly scheduled student with a weekly time block, your payment will be applied to your next scheduled lesson.
All single appointments cancelled due to my absence are eligible for your choice of rescheduling or refund. If you are a regularly scheduled student, your payment will be applied to your next scheduled lesson.
There are no refunds for unused appointments.
If you are more than 20 minutes late for your appointment, it is considered a no show. If you arrive late, your lesson will still end at the regularly scheduled time.
Barbara reserves the right to refuse and/or discontinue lessons with any person for any reason at her discretion.
INCLEMENT WEATHER Rain or snow does not automatically mean that appointments will be cancelled. Please plan for extra travel time during inclement weather. Should you truly be unable to make your appointment due to weather, we can change your appointment to a Zoom or FaceTime online appointment. (See my note regarding Online Appointments below)
ILLNESS In the case of a minor illness, you will likely be able to keep your appointment. In the event that you experience a major illness, you will be allowed one late illness cancellation/reschedule per 10 appointments. You are responsible for notifying me prior to your appointment time.
VACATIONS & SCHOOL HOLIDAYS I will inform you at least a week in advance (usually more) if I will not be teaching on a given day, including school vacations and holidays. Unless I have told you that I will not be teaching, it is your responsibility to cancel or reschedule your appointment in advance, per studio policy.
ONLINE APPOINTMENTS I am able to accommodate online voice lessons via Zoom or FaceTime. This can be a great option for times when you are feeling a little under the weather and would prefer not to travel, or during a snow storm. If you would like to convert your lesson to an online lesson on a given day, just let me know.
For voice therapy clients, online services may be limited because of speech-language pathology licensing issues. I hold licenses in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the State of California. Therefore we are able to schedule an online appointment for voice therapy, if you are located in either of those states. Unfortunately, I am not allowed to provide voice therapy when you are physically located in a state where I am not licensed.
Also if you have Medicare, I am unable to provide speech therapy/voice therapy, as I am not a participating Medicare provider. Medicare regulations prevent me from charging you for therapy services, even if you want to choose to work with a non-participating speech pathologist.
I have high-speed internet at my studio and I hard wire into the internet with ethernet. I cannot be responsible for the speed or fidelity of your connection to the internet. Before considering scheduling an online session, be certain to ensure you have access to reliable high-speed internet.
